Between 2023 and 2025, my painting practice shifted. From girl-like figurative forms toward object-based symbols, becoming vessels of emotion. Eyes still linger in petals. Their gaze remains.
In my exhibition Wobble in Blossom, transformation runs through each work. These paintings reflect the emotional landscape of relocation and re-rooting, where peace and unease quietly coexist.
I explore the bittersweet beauty of growth, uncertainty, resilience, and quiet through mountain-like figures, flowers, fruits, and sparkles. They grow, but remain unsteady. Fragile, in between. Like the life cycle of the feminine. Like the life cycle of a flower. Softened colors recur throughout each work, carrying ambiguity more gently.
Shaped by memory, scrutiny, and imagination, daily life holds fragments of invisible struggle and quiet turning points. Unfolding slowly, imperfectly.

From Girl-like Figures to Flowers and Mountains: Vessels of Emotion
“Wobble in Blossom” is about this fragile in-between. It reflects the instability of transformation, both in my art and in life, as I moved from Hong Kong to London, navigating loss, reinvention, and quiet moments of becoming. Flowers in my new paintings have begun to take on the life cycle of feminine, as if the shape for time and transformation, from youth to beyond. There is pressure in change, but also a strange kind of glow. This body of work explores the bittersweet beauty of growing while not yet steady. A blooming that shakes. A self still forming.
