Artist Statement
Pui Lam
Pei Lam is a visual artist from Hong Kong, currently based in London. With a background in illustration, her practice has gradually shifted from figurative characters to object-based forms, focusing on themes of identity, memory, and personal transformation.
Her recent work reflects the experience of relocation, exploring emotional states such as uncertainty, resilience, and adaptation. Using recurring motifs like mountains, flowers, fruits, and soft palettes, she creates visual metaphors for the tension between inner struggles and growth.
Her paintings are shaped by observation, memory, and imagination. Each piece captures fragments of everyday life and quiet turning points, reflecting an ongoing process of change.
